Gaulino Table - BD Barcelona

The Gaulino Table is designed by Oscar Tusquets Blanca for b.d.

Old rockers never die and Oscar Tusquets has plenty of desire to prove it. This architect, artist (the drawing of the Mollinian lady illustrates it) and writer, has designed almost everything throughout his long career, his work has its own encyclopedia, compiled by Juli Capella and published by the Electa publishing house and in particular many chairs, some of them much admired, but possibly none is as beautiful as Gaulino.

In this piece, Tusquets says, some critics had detected his well-known admiration for Salvador Dalí but, when he saw it finished, it seemed to him that the obvious influences came from Antoni Gaudí and Carlo Mollino. That is why he was called Gaulino. He designed it in 1987 and since then it has become a benchmark in Spanish design. "I learned and had a lot of fun and I consider it one of my best works.

Although its appearance is totally handmade, it was my first really industrial project in wood; That's when I realized what machines could do." Almost a quarter of a century later, b.d reissues it, improved, accompanied by a new table design and aware of having an unrepeatable chair that has a great story to tell. With it, b.d has begun the production of a series of pieces on his most emblematic designs.

Finishes: Structure in ash or solid walnut. Top in DM veneered with natural ash or walnut or in tempered glass in smoked or transparent color (1 cm. thick).

Finishes on: natural varnished or black dyed. In all cases, the edge and the bottom of the table are lacquered in the same color as the top.
