André Ricard, 1972.

Tatu Lamp.

Santa&Cole, together with oneof the pioneering professionals in the world of Spanish industrial design, André Ricard, has reissued the Tatu lamp previously published by Metalarte. On this occasion, they have improved the initial performance through Led technology with a much less hot and much longer lasting light source, but also incorporating a shiftable converging lens, which widens or reduces the focal aperture between the light column (30º aperture) and the general diffuser (50º aperture).

Tatu's shape has a clear zoomorphic inspiration, reminiscent of an armadillo that, like Tatu, folds in on itself and has a hard and articulate shell. These joints allow you to vary the height and orientation of the light without losing stability.

Originally André Ricard thought of this lamp for the bedside table, perfect to accompany reading in bed, but finally it was given other applications as a spot light lamp or as a wall lamp.

Tatu is an icon in the design of the 70s, with a clear pop aesthetic it takes us back to that carefree era.
