The Santa Monica lamp is part of the "Memphis Milano" collection that brings together the icons designed by the famous Memphis collective, founded by Ettore Sottsass in 1981 and produced these pieces between 1981 and 1988, being considered true works of art, these collector's pieces revolutionized the creative and commercial logic of design in the eighties.
Memphis Milano brought together international architects and designers such as Michele De Lucchi, Matteo Thun, Martine Bedin, Nathalie Du Pasquier, Shiro Kuramata, George J. Sowden ..., who represented a true cultural phenomenon, voluntarily placing themselves outside the canons of "good taste" of the time, applying a lot of fantasy to their designs with colorful and eccentric creations.
Memphis quickly earned the subversive label of Italian design with its quirky universe, representing a real revolution that unleashed passions.
