The Mezzadro stool comes from the creative pen of the brothers Achille Castiglioni and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, which they designed as early as 1957 for the Italian designer furniture manufacturer Zanotta. Mezzadro is designed from the idea of using the seat of an agricultural tractor. For this reason, they took the seat of the vehicle, in molded and painted sheet metal, and reversed the orientation of the spring of chrome steel sheet that supports it and that in the tractor had the function of minimizing the oscillations of the seat due to traffic on uneven terrain. With this configuration, the seat seems to be suspended and leads to the playful and experimental spirit that is so seductive in Mezzadro's design and that is a real sculpture.

It is perfect and a fantastic symbiosis of form and function, an exemplary example of the so-called Radical Design in Italian design.

The Mezzadro stool consists of brightly colored seats that make the stool stand out in all types of environments. The support stem of the Mezzadro stool is made of chrome steel, the foot in steam-treated beech wood and the seat in plastic.
