House of Finn Juhl is the firm in charge of producing the original designs of the architect and industrial designer Finn Juhl. On this occasion we present one of the pieces with the most personality, a true work of art: the GrassHopper armchair.

Its creation dates back to 1938 and its presentation was in an exhibition, but people did not understand this piece and saw it as a provocation for its extravagance and daring aesthetics at a time when functionalism and decorative austerity triumphed.

The grasshopper armchair was one of the first pieces of Finn Juhl in which he wanted to convey his artistic facet, today it is considered one of the best furniture designs in history.

Finn Juhl was not constrained by what was possible or impossible, and only with the help of master cabinetmaker Niels Vodder did Finn Juhl 's rudimentary drawings translate into physical designs. That is, the Grasshopper is, despite its apparent simplicity, extremely difficult to build due to its difficult angles, joints, and complex shapes.

The Finn Juhl Grasshopper is currently available with an oak and walnut structure and upholstered in textile or leather.

We offer you the Remix upholstery by Kvadrat in a small selection of colors, for changes of upholstery, colors or leathers consult with us.
