The Nyhavn desks from Finn Juhl feature a light and elegant design in different sizes thanks to their thin burnished steel legs with a wood finish, in combination with a simple top available in various finishes.
It also incorporates a unit of drawers that stand out for their front in a range of cold or warm colors.
House of Finn Juhl is the Danish furniture brand in charge of producing this original design from 1945. Initially, a series of different tables with almost invisible legs were created in burnished steel or painted with wooden tips. In this way, he introduced an almost floating lightness to his designs.
When Finn Juhl established his first studio at the exclusive address of 33 Nyhavn in the centre of Copenhagen in 1945, he designed a very simple desk with burnished steel legs, a detail that shaped the design of his furniture during the 1950s. It was in 1953 when he expanded the desk with the drawer unit, which can be added to any of the work table sizes.
Since 2012 the firm has been producing the table in different sizes and it is available with a teak, oak, walnut, Oregon pine and black linoleum veneer top, with matching wooden fingers on burnished steel legs. Alternatively, the legs are available in black, orange or light blue paint.
The table can be ordered with a tray unit with three drawers in a range of warm or cool colours. The tray unit is mounted with brackets, to further emphasize the floating lightness of the table.
