In 1949, Charles & Ray Eames developed a novel system of multifunctional insulated shelving and desks, the Eames Storage Units (ESU) and the Eames Desk Units (EDU), built according to the principles of industrial mass production, as did the Eames House, built at the same time.
In 2013 and in close collaboration between the Eames Office and the designer Hella Jongerius, they made a new range of carefully defined colors.
Tabletop: birch veneered laminated timber (Poland and Finland).
Metal surfaces: black powder coating.
Panels: Powder-coated aluminium.
Shelves: birch veneered laminated maple wood (Poland and Finland), clear varnish.
Legs: height adjustable separately.
Applications: Recommended for residential use only.
