We present the original Tulip chair designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll in 1958, also known as the Saarinen chair. It stands out for its armless seat shell that resembles the shape of a tulip. It offers the possibility to choose between a black or white structure and base, and you can also choose between the fixed or swivel model.
We propose the model with seat cushion upholstered in Ultrasuede fabric (Cat. A), available in a variety of colors.
The Tulip Saarinen Chair is a design by Eero Saarinen that grew out of his commitment to address the "confusing, restless, ugly world" he observed beneath the chairs and tables, the so-called "underleg neighborhood." A design research that lasted five years and led him to the revolutionary Pedestal Collection, introduced in 1958. His search for purist architecture and interior design led him to create this magnificent collection, with a dining table, coffee, auxiliary and this, the famous Tulip chair, becoming a very important icon of contemporary design.
The KnollStudio logo and Eero Saarinen's signature are located at the bottom of the base.
