The Nanimarquina rugs also seek to collaborate with the environment, using new production techniques and recycled materials, as is the case of the Re-Rug 1 rug, a model that uses wool in green and red tones, mixed with recycled wool that provides different shades and is intertwined creating new color contrasts.
Nani Marquina, is the designer in charge of creating the designs of the Re-Rug rugs for her own firm, this artist masterfully handles the prints and combinations of wefts in textile products, so this time she presents a more ecological line that is produced with 2 types of wool, one part recycled and the other from New Zealand, creating a unique finish that is very simple to maintain.
The unique character of this collection lies in the intention to preserve the irregularity and tonal richness of the wool mountains. A challenge that has led the firm Nanimarquina specialized in rug design to experiment with new processes through which they have managed to maintain the multicolored appearance of the yarn.
The Re-Rug collection is made using the hand loomed dhurrie technique , which is characterized by being a flat structure rug formed from the cross between the weft and the warp.
In the case of Re-Rug carpet, for greater strength and quality, the structural part of the carpet, i.e. the warp, is made from New Zealand virgin wool dyed in black and white, yellow or blue, green or tile. And in the weft, the marbled recycled yarn of different thickness that varies in color.
