Knoll, one of the most prestigious contemporary design furniture firms in the world, is in charge of producing some of the most classic and iconic products of the most relevant designers, as is the case of Eero Saarinen's designs.

The Saarinen Collection is made up of different types of seats, from chairs with and without arms, to chairs oriented for work or home working and also a line of stools, which differ with medium height, perfect for counters and kitchen bars, as well as taller models for bars and restaurants.

We propose both Knoll stools , the Saarinen Counter Stool and the Saarinen Bar Stool that combines ash wood leg available with various stains, which is combined with its padding and comfortable upholstered seat and backrest, with its characteristic hole in the back. Product Story:

After winning the Museum of Modern Art's Organic Design Competition with Charles Eames for his experiments with bent plywood in 1941, Eero Saarinen was eager to further explore the possibilities of a chair that achieved comfort through the shape of its frame, not the depth of its padding. Initially, he began the research with designs for smaller fiberglass work chairs, but changed direction when Florence Knoll approached him and asked, "Why don't you take the bull by the horns and make the big one first? I want a chair that's like a basket full of pillows... something I can snuggle into." While that's not exactly where Saarinen ended up, the suggestion inspired one of the most iconic and comfortable chairs in the modern furniture movement, The Womb Chair.

After completing the Womb Chair, Saarinen refocused on task seating, reducing the concept and shape of the matrix to armrests and armless chairs. Introduced as the 71 and 72 series, the chairs replaced Florence's Model 43 chairs Knoll as the Planning Unit's reference seating solution. The iconic chair, often referred to as "that chair with the hole in the back," has been a staple of Knoll 's portfolio for more than 60 years.
