Arco Lamp - Flos

The Arco floor lamp is in fashion again or perhaps it would be more true to say that it has never gone out of style, it has a perfect, discreet and at the same time forceful presence.

The Arco lamp emits direct light that meets the need for direct lighting on a table without the limitation of a fixed light point to the ceiling. The base of the lamp is made up of a white marble parallelepiped of approximately 65 kg, the corners are chamfered, with a hole drilled in the center of gravity, useful both for the fixing of the vertical axis that supports the arch itself, and for the easy movement of the lamp (for example, by inserting a normal broomstick).

The shaft is made up of three arched sectors with a U-section of stainless steel capable of allowing, sliding one inside the other, the telescopic feeding and the hidden passage of the cables. This gives the arch more amplitudes, with the positioning of the reflector at three different heights.

The dome is made of two pieces: a cap perforated in a fixed way to facilitate the cooling of the lamp holder (100 watt opal glass bulb), the other a movable aluminum ring, leaning against the first, in order to adjust in position, depending on the height of the third sector of the arch.

Throughout its years of production, the only modification the Arco lamp has undergone is that of its electrical system to standardize the regulations applicable to the devices. Now not available with the dimmer, it is only available with on/off switch.

Thousands of copies have been sold, suffering greatly from the phenomenon of plagiarism, in which the company has decided to take legal action only in cases of slavish copying and misuse of the name.

In 2007, the Court of Justice recognised the protection of copyright, as is the case with works of art, including for a design object.
